Architecture of the Digital Library

By Jeremy Hylton, Andrew Kass, Mitchell Charity, Eytan Adar, and Jerry Saltzer

Following is a collection of related but independently authored documents that comprise a work in progress, based on many discussions in and out of meetings of the Library 2000 group over several years. Although not integrated, by browsing the entire collection one sees a fairly uniform perspective on many of the architectural issues of a digital library.

Some of the architecture ideas discussed above are influenced by our thinking on how to achieve integrity of long-persistence data, for which there is a separate page.
